settlements & probation
State boards are first and foremost a public protection agency, legally charged with making the public priority one. More often than not, this means state regulations are enforced without bias across the state regardless of extenuating circumstances. In other words, licensees are not getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to violations of pharmacy law no matter how seemingly small.
ITL’s pharmacist consultants have worked with clients in 19 different states in the US, interfacing regularly with various state boards of pharmacy. Each state board has different proceedings for enforcement action, resulting in any number of outcomes for licensed practitioners. For clients who face disciplinary action, we have deep experience as dedicated consultants tasked with regular inspections.
Our clients are both licensed practitioners and pharmacies. Our consultants have been approved by the California board of pharmacy and other states to act as a professional consultant for compounding pharmacies facing probationary terms. Inspection schedules are stipulated by the board and met by our consultants in order to comply with all settlement terms.
We primary focus on compounding pharmacy, both sterile and non-sterile, and work closely with the pharmacist-in-charge to provide comprehensive and transparent services to ensure all probationary terms are upheld through the entire term, sometimes spanning up to 5 years.
Over the course of these long terms, we develop a close relationship with our pharmacies and pharmacists, earning trust, as it should be. Our aim is two-fold: to empower pharmacies to fully integrate best practices and quality standards into their business, and to demonstrate to the board of pharmacy that the necessary actions for preventing future deficiencies are being taken, and taken seriously.
High stakes
Our pharmacists are not only consultants, but entrepreneurs, business owners, educators, parents and so much more. We understand the importance of running a business, the challenges of remaining profitable, and place no personal aspect higher than that of keeping your business successful. Reaching our 10-year business milestone of advocating for and empowering compounding pharmacy helps to keep these high stakes forefront in all we do.
